TESTING AND INSPECTION

EARTHWORK OBSERVATION AND TESTING
Since inception, SFB has provided our clients with construction observation and testing services during earthwork operations, including: testing and inspection of fill placement, over-excavation and re-construction of unstable slopes and earthen buttresses, installation of sub-drains, placement of utility trench backfill, and placement of structural backfill behind retaining walls, foundations, and pavements.

Our highly trained technicians and registered engineers perform field testing with state of the art equipment, and all field personnel are dispatched in late-model, company owned trucks.

We also conduct pier and pile load tests, plate bearing tests and make recommendations for excavations, ground water control, wet weather grading techniques, and other project issues. Our geotechnical engineering field capabilities include foundation excavation inspections for shallow footings and deep piers and engineering consultations during pile driving operations, including wave equation analysis for prediction of pile performance. The expertise of our senior geotechnical engineers is readily available to keep the project on schedule and under budget.
